We include the agile software development practices into our processes, including specifications design with screen drawings, nightly build, test-
driven development, etc. To better support the agile process, we setup a globally accessible Project Management web site, with the following installed and pre-configured. – Subversion - Provides excellent source code revision control with access to the repository via http, file or svn protocols.
Trac -Simplifies the tracking and handling of tasks, software issues, enhancements and overall progress. It also provides a simple but extremely effective way of communication via the built-in wiki.
Kimai -This is a timing tracking tool for developers, it can track hours spent on different activities by each team member.
Teamtrac - This collects information from the Trac ticket system and the Kimai system and presents various types of progress and working reports. You see reports regarding estimated efforts, milestone configurations and achievement, developer capacity utilization, etc.
All these help facilitate track-able and timely communication between our teams and clients. The Project Management web site can be accessed via the internet by clients in order to support offshore collaborations and communicate between geographically distributed teams.
